COMMUNITY WALL PROJECT
POLYNESIAN ISLE BLVD:
Speed measuring radar devices have been placed which will transmit the data to the Sheriffs dept. for enforcement. Should this fail to slow folks down then speed bumps or a traffic signal may be the best solution.
Littering of the blvd: if you see a garbage truck loosing it's trash pls note the name of the company, brief description of vehicle and pls call the voice mail at 407-931-7222
INDIAN WELLS PARK
Use of the picnic shelter in our park for parties or picnics requires an advance reservation and a refundable $25 clean-up deposit. The deposit will be promptly returned if the area is clean of all trash and garbage. Cooking is prohibited 2 hours before park closing in order to be certain no hot coals remain. 4 o'clock is the current cut-off time for cooking. This time will be adjusted just as park closing is adjusted throughout the year. Phone 407-931-7222 for reservations.
Closure may occur earlier than the normal dusk closing time due to inclement weather
COMMUNICATION WITH THE HOA
The board of directors asks that anyone wishing to voice any feelings of malcontent do so in writing so that issues can be followed up by the appropriate internal/external departments affiliated with our community . All mail should be addressed to: Indian Wells HOA 3101 Polynesian Isle Blvd. Kissimmee, Fl 34746. All communication must contain a signature, contact phone number, and residential address for processing of the malcontent.
SIGNS ALONG THE BLVD
We have an extensive irrigation system along Polynesian Isle Boulevard that has been damaged by the placement of signs between the roadway and the walls. Putting stakes in the ground can easily break these pipes. Our landscaping crew have been instructed, by the County, to remove all signs placed along the Boulevard as the County bans placement of signs there. Do not tape signs to our walls as their removal damages the paint. Violators of the County Sign Ordinance will be billed for all damage to our irrigation system heads and pipes. REMEMBER, your address &/or phone number is on your sign and will be photographed.
STORM SEWERS
Everything that enters our storm sewers will either block the sewer or end up in our retention pond (lake). Don't discard anything into the sewers and please tell violators of these results. We have a fine retention pond with plenty of fish and ducks that many enjoy. let us keep it that way. The county has been notified of the condition of our lake but we also ask your assistance by notifying your lawn maintenance vendors to please not blow any grass clippings etc into our streets .
VOTING
Precinct 20 is no longer located in the Association building at 3101 Polynesian Isle Blvd. It has been moved (by the Supervisor of Elections) to Fire Station #42 on Poinciana Blvd. The Fire Station is located about 1 mile behind the Perkins Restaurant ( Route 192 & Poinciana Blvd.). Please remember this location for the next election or you can vote from your home by using an absentee ballot that may be requested by phoning the Election Supervisor's office at 407-742-6000.
FEMA
The government manager of the Federal Flood Insurance Program has advised all currently insured owners to renew their insurance and all those without Flood Insurance, to get insured. "We are within one mile of a high-risk flood area, according to local flood hazard maps. That means there's an increased chance of damage to your home." "You know that standard homeowners insurance doesn't cover flood damage." "Your home is a disaster waiting to happen."
WATER RESTRICTIONS
The TOHO Water Authority announced lawn watering restrictions in a notice placed in your KUA water bill. Even numbered homes are permitted to water on Thursdays & Sundays while odd numbers are to water on Wednesdays &n Saturdays. No lawn watering is permitted between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM. One city has severe penalties for violations that could result in termination of irrigation water.
PARK RESTRICTIONS
There are and have always been, some restrictions on the use of our park. The rules have been formulated by the HO Board of Directors in order to ensure the safety and availability of the park for the greatest number of those who are entitled to use the facilities. If you have any specific questions regarding the rules, please address your questions to our Voice Mail at 407-391-7222. Please leave your name and phone number in order that you receive a response. Liability prohibits the use of the park for any and all organized sports. Please Remember, DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED in the Indian Wells Park. Violators may be trespassed and an Osceola County Trespass Notice does not have any automatic termination.
JUNK AND DEBRIS
Placing or keeping your trash cans at your curbside before 6 PM the evening before the collection day may result in a citation from the County Code Enforcement Department. WATCH FOR SOME CHANGES in the trash schedule and method. According to a report fron a recent County Commissioner meeting, the garbage schedule will change along with a type of recycling system.
CONSUMER HOT LINES
There are two ways of registering your phone on the Do Not Call list: National Registry at 1-888-382-1222, and the State Registry at 1-800-435-7352. The Florida number may also be used for other consumer complaints. These Registry's will all but eliminate most bothersome phone solicitations.
