Community Update

Community Wall Painting

The repair and painting of the exterior of the stucco/block walls surrounding our community has not been forgotten.  The HOA has been working with Osceola County departments to accomplish this work.  Bids were received earlier this year and a a bidder was selected but  a problem occurred. Our MSTU ordinance did not include all of our walls and the ordinance needs to be amended by our County Commissioners.  Our Board of Directors has requested this amendment   and it appears this can be accomplished.  We ask for your patience.

Indian Wells Park

Use of the picnic shelter in our park for parties or picnics requires an advance reservation and a refundable $50 clean-up deposit.  The deposit will be promptly returned if the area is clean of all trash and garbage. Cooking is prohibited 2 hours before park closing in order to be certain no hot coals remain.  6 o'clock is the current cut-off time for cooking. This time will b adjusted just as park closing is adjusted throughout the year.   Phone 407-931-7222 for reservations.

 IMPROVEMENTS

There will be a new net installed in our tennis court along with wind screens at both ends of the court.  Osceola County General Services is working on rebuilding our fishing dock in the park.

FEMA, the government manager of the Federal Flood Insurance Program has advised all currently insured owners to renew their insurance and all those without Flood Insurance, to get insured.  "We are within one mile of a high-risk flood area, according to local flood hazard maps.  That means there's an increased chance of damage to your home."  "You know that standard homeowners insurance doesn't cover flood damage."  "Your home is a disaster waiting to happen."

Water Restrictions

The TOHO Water Authority announced lawn watering restrictions in a notice placed in your KUA water bill.  Even numbered homes are permitted to water on Thursdays & Sundays while odd numbers are to water on Wednesdays &n Saturdays. No lawn watering is permitted between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM.  One city has severe penalties for violations that could result in termination of irrigation water.

Signs Along the Boulevard

We have an extensive irrigation system along Polynesian Isle Boulevard that has been damaged by the placement of signs between the roadway and the walls. Putting stakes in the ground can easily break these pipes.  Our landscaping crew have been instructed, by the County, to remove all signs placed along the Boulevard as  the County bans placement of signs there.  Do not tape signs to our walls as their removal damages the paint. Violators of the County Sign Ordinance will be billed for all damage to our irrigation system heads and pipes.  REMEMBER, your address &/or phone number is on your sign and will be photographed.

Park Restrictions

There are and have always been, some restrictions on the use of our park. The rules have been formulated by the HO Board of Directors in order to ensure the safety and availability of the park for the greatest number of those who are entitled to use the facilities.  If you have any specific questions regarding the rules, please address your questions to our Voice Mail at 407-391-7222.  Please leave your name and phone number in order that you receive a response.  Liability  prohibits the use of the park for any and all organized sports.  Please Remember, DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED in the Indian Wells Park.  Violators may be trespassed and an Osceola County Trespass  Notice does not have any automatic termination.

Junk and Debris

Placing or keeping your trash cans at your curbside before 6 PM the evening before the collection day may result in a citation from the County Code Enforcement Department.

Consumer Hot-Lines

There are two ways of registering your phone on the Do Not Call list:  National Registry at 1-888-382-1222, and the State Registry at 1-800-435-7352.  The Florida number may also be used for other consumer complaints.  These Registry's will all but eliminate most bothersome phone solicitations.

Storm Sewers

Everything that enters our storm sewers will either block the sewer or end up in our retention pond (lake).  Don't discard anything into the sewers and please tell violators of these results.  We have a fine retention pond with plenty of fish and ducks that many enjoy.  let us keep it that way.
